1978 Corvette Interior Colors and Trim Codes
1978 brought the biggest interior change of the generation: a redesigned dashboard with a glovebox in front of the passenger for the first time. Seven interior colours were offered. Below is every trim code and what it came with.

The colour dots are on-screen approximations to tell the trims apart, not matches. Chevrolet never published values for them, and surviving trim has usually faded, so treat them as a guide and check an unexposed area of your own car before ordering.
How to read your trim code
From 1975 the trim code carries a letter that tells you the material at a glance. A code ending in V is vinyl and one ending in C is cloth, while an all-numeric code ending in 2 is leather. So 19V and 192 are the same black, one in vinyl and one in leather. Read the code off the trim tag riveted to the driver's side of the body, just inside the door opening, alongside the paint code. It is the only surviving evidence of what the car originally had once the seats have been recovered.

Seats and trim in 1978
The dashboard was redesigned around a glovebox in front of the passenger, the first in the generation, and the instruments were restyled with square-edged faces. The fastback rear window added real luggage space behind the seats. The Limited Edition Pace Car replica carried its own silver and grey interior that is not on the standard chart below.
How 1978 buyers specified the inside
The fastback year brought a new interior with a proper luggage area behind the seats. Air conditioning went into 37,638 of 40,274 cars and the tilt and telescopic column into 37,858, both around 94 per cent. Two options make 1978 easy to date from the dashboard: UP6, the AM-FM stereo with CB radio at $638.00, taken by 7,138 buyers, and the 8-track at 20,899. The CB is the period detail people either restore with delight or quietly remove, and it is the single most 1978 thing in the car.
